a footballer/rugby player being sent off in a game is breaking the rules, a false start in the Olympic 100m is breaking the rules, a low-blow in boxing is breaking the rules yet the penelty for breaking the rules in other sports does not match-up to the penelty given to horse racing jockeys who hit a horse 6 times instead of 5 times. The punishment of banning the jockey from receiving his prize money is wrong and will destroy the sport unless it is applied to all sports worldwide

Amazing a post about some soap opera or countdown gets hundreds of replies and this brilliant post receives none. This is a great point and should be sent immediately to Richard Hughes.

Do you know the true cost to Usain Bolt of his disqualification from the 100 metres final at the recent World Athletics Championships? Me neither(!) and because it was Bolt, the only superstar currently in athletics, I suspect it won't have made a huge financial impact. For other athletes though a DQ could be catastrophic - worse than for a jockey because it's potentially years before they get an opportunity to put things right.
