Please remember we're (generally speaking) talking about fraudsters who often use (or don't use) the whip to defraud us.

What next? "It's a terrible shame for the bankers".

Not fraudsters imo. Not very bright, as a rule, but not fraudsters.

Pullhane is a fraudster.

Zilber called them "pygmies in boots."

He treated them with the same contempt that they treat punters with,by the sound of things.
Report duncan idaho • October 15, 2011 10:39 AM BST
Hughes wouldnt pi$$ on a punter if he was on fire imo
Report AlainCharnier..Macau. • October 15, 2011 10:44 AM BST
Why should he ?

He is one of many who just take from the game, duncan.
Report telephone • October 15, 2011 10:45 AM BST
who doesn't take from the pot please ?!
Report telephone • October 15, 2011 10:51 AM BST
don't forget though, the jockeys are punters themselves !
Report ph. • October 15, 2011 11:04 AM BST
of course they are fraudsters when it suits them, allegedly through laying their mount or following trainers instruction for an easy or too run into trouble. Not trying to win and somebody benefiting from that is fraudulent activity ramruna.

willoughby sided with a spoilt kid throwing the toys out on ruk, seems they cannot be criticised on or off the track now, amazingly some people thought this show of in-house pulling together was good, talk about turkeys voting for xmas, another damaging episode for racing,

if tevez was a jockey I'll go 1.001 the gravytrain would be defending him

As none of the above grasp the concept of gambling i would respectfully suggest ye give it up.When ye lose it is always someone elses fault, the easiest fall guy being the jockey, hence all the name calling. In betting shops you regularly here this abuse and you come to expect it but i have been taken aback by the ill informed comment on here, some of it so stupid its alarming. The good aspect of the Richard Hughes affair is that the rational sensible forumites have reclaimed the forum.

Were you taught by nuns,Feck ?
Report wildmanfromborneo • October 15, 2011 11:48 AM BST
No Watchit worse again i want the rules to revert back to the time when there were no suspensions of jockeys,
A jockeys career is short and sprinkled with injury,i think it is immoral to ever take away their licence.
Report Rider • October 15, 2011 11:48 AM BST
wildmanfromborneo, objective appraisal of a jockey is an important aspect of betting, if you are weighing up chance (and not a hedonist), Hughes made alot of noise after he had been banned but little before it, whilst other jockeys got on with the job of trying to adjust, how can you condone this ?

No Alain, are they good pro-punters?
Report Feck N. Eejit • October 15, 2011 11:58 AM BST
I stand corrected Alain. There were two nuns who were teachers at my primary school. Don't recall them being pro-punterers though.
Report AlainCharnier..Macau. • October 15, 2011 11:59 AM BST
You should not be using words like "beatification" on a PROPUNTER'S forum,Feck.

People might think you have hang-ups about religion.....oh,and one more question....

Hughes thought he'd be least affected by the new rules SO MADE NO EFFORT to comply with them and CAME UNSTUCK....tough t!tty.
Report wildmanfromborneo • October 15, 2011 12:02 PM BST
The new rule is ludicrous and unworkable, too much is being asked of jockeys,A poster called Mr Magoo said it is easy to count to 5 but that is so simplistic its laughable. The persecution of these brave men is wrong and it is becoming systematic remember when the stall handlers put a Richard Hughes ridden horse in the wrong stall, thay later corrected it,they banned Hughes for 1 day. When the clerk of the course makes a bags of things and the jockeys take the wrong course, savage bans handed out to the jockeys. If a jockey makes an error he has to first run the gauntlet of punters then be bawled out of it by the trainer then its the owners turn and finally he is hauled up before the stewards to be punished for the umpteenth time for the one error, its pure bullying.
