Why do people feel the need to make such vacant statements?

One of the downsides of this game is people acting like the have some kind of gold like control or foresight.

Loanwolf, Lay your Entire bank on frankel then. Post your bet and then your comments might have some weight.

The horse will win today and you will lose, dont come on here with your 'outlandish' statements when you only stand to lose nothing of note to anyone.

as much as I disagree with the original post, if Frankel does lose there will be a few here with egg on their face

horse been very well handled by Sir Henry, been having a snooze for 80 days, and will be fighting fit on unseasonal decent good ground, virtually the only thing that could have gone wrong having had a relatively light season.

Egg on face looks only a 1 in 50 probability

Somehow think it will get beaten today - Immortal Verse or Excelebration.

i've seen horse get beat in ways you wouldn't think possible

They are not relying on the others being better than Frankel, just hoping for an accident or Frankel banging his head in his stall.

Given a reasonable pace looks assured and Frankel 90% likely to be ridden in first 3 or 4, won't even suffer any traffic problems which would have been the only conceivable means of defeat assuming he is within 4-5 lengths of his best

As a young punter I was absolutely amazed when Arkle got beat. I did not forget that lesson.

In my time as a man-who-backs-horsesandthings , i have found that when something is supposed to be an absolute banker ,it fails 7 / 10 times.
Especially if Mcoy is on it.
Anyway,as much as i feel Frankel is a good thing, i just cant bring myelf to back it beacuse i feel the value is in the place market.i.e.  Immortal Verse / Dick Turpin.

my view is that on all evidence so far, Frankel is one of the greatest horses ever. i am stunned to see the horse at 1/2 and would be very surprised if he were beaten today. whilst not in the same class as Frankel, i did hear that Dick Turpin worked very well recently and the yard think they have a chance of making the frame.

I don't remember that sparrow, but didn't Arkle fracture his leg?

pedrobob, The day I refer to was when he was beaten by Dormant. He also lost to Stalbridge Colonist.

Nothing unusual in laying an odds on shot, if you can see areason for laying. Frankel has never given any reasons. Never a lay in a million years.

what does surprise me about the original poster is why would you want to lay Frankel at 1/2. The last time this horse was 1/2 he won the guineas by half the track. Then the bookies were even more crazy when they went 4/6 about him at goodwood and he thrashed canford cliffs. Remember first time out this season at newbury, the horse was a 1/4 shot and beat excelebration by a very easy 4l. unless my eyes deceive me, excelebration is second fav today, so if frankel has already beaten that one at odds of 1/4, why would you want to lay him against the same horse at odds of 1/2

Unless you have a reason to believe that excelebration can turn that form around of course.

Well an interesting point there john, is suppose it is possible that frankel could go too quick. But im not sure i would want to lay him based on biology.

as for immortal verse. i think that one is flattered somewhat in beating goldikova lto. im not sure goldikova is anything like the horse from previous seasons in fact could be as much as 10lb below its previous seasons.

lto frankel led but didnt kick for home as early as he had before and was very impressive ,today will be the same and he will win on the bridle.

Maybe because if you go against the majority opinion and are proved to be right it makes you look like a genius and if wrong then you just laugh it off as a joke post and were taking the p!ss and just fishing.

Interesting too that the OP gives named alternatives to So You Think but not to Frankel but even if Frankel isn't a wonder horse, does that mean he still won't win today?
