Possibly something legal, like Breach of Contract - as they have already been declared for Saturday.

However, jockeys only have to be declared with the 48-hurs, or overnight, Final Decs for Monday.

Is there much difference on prize money between the two days? Of course there is. This is why their arguments are so hollow.

I would think we have enough probs in our great sport without that happening i would think. This has been 1 of the biggest promoted racing days of the season, it would be madness 2 strike on this day.
They would only be shooting themselves and racing in the foot at a time when it does not need it.
Hopefully all will go well 2moro and we are ALL talking up our great sport of horse racing.

They will be striking, with the whip.
As many times as they like?
Probably not!

For those who have never been on strike: the idea is to maximise pain to the other side and minimise it to yourself. There isn't really any moral approach here.

Whilst I agree that something needed to be done about the whip and reducing the number of times the horses are hit [other than for steering], the BHA have made a pigs ear of how they handled the transition.

Firstly they should have outlined the new changes and had a 3 month transition period, where they could take on board the views of affected parties and tinker with the new laws after that period. In this trial period they could have set penalties to 25% normal in first month, 35% in second month and say 50% in 3rd month to give the laws some validation but not get the jockeys backs up so much.

So little foresight has been shown as per usual. Makes you wonder how qualified these people are to run ANY type of business.
