Any thoughts on the best value pitches Festival-wise for around 20-25k mark?

Confused by all different ring lists on AGT website - any help gratefully received.

at that price you should concentrate only on the best mate.
but 25k will only get you a number of arround 20 or so even in there
it still only gets you four days work

Thanks adge - what sort of turnover would that type of pitch lead to? And are the Tatts numbered in their 30s for sale not worth it?

adge is right, lower tatts would probably be ok as well if that falls in the price range, just don't pay big money for a tatts pitch. pbt you can always ask us next time you are out, must go redcar beckons.

Cheers Ribero - watch the Fahey unraced in the 3.10 there today!

My own experience was that I used to bet in tatts (for 25 years) and it got to the point where I just didn't want to go.  My number was a poorer one than you mention (I was no.43).  I managed to sell it but if it hadn't sold I had decided I wasn't going anymore anyway.  I bought a pitch in Best Mate & now look forward to going.  Good luck with whatever you decide, but always remember the ex's.

Thanks Wasnot - I'm just looking to have 4 days hard work/fun every March in a pitch that takes decent turnover though otherwise you might as well - as you say - not go.

I presume the turnover down there justifies hefty exes.

i haven't bet in tatts near those numbers so can't give a true comment on the value .
number 17 in the best mate for example was offered at 40k and didn't sell [ still for sale i believe ]but is a good pick number [ probably a value buy at 32k or so ]
turnover in best mate is more than most front line tatts picks on summer saturdays at other courses but the bigger seniority number the better [ everywhere ] as it does spiral downwords even at cheltenham.
betting badge prices after next year also need factoring in...all but a few pitches are nowhere near as good as the racecourses believe they are

I travel each day.  The ex's are high enough without hotels etc, even in the 'cheap' enclosure.  I didn't find tatts hard work, it really wasn't very busy at all, although, like I say, I was only number 43.  I would be very wary of paying 25k for a tatts pitch without going and seeing for yourself.  Perhaps take a trip there for this year, spend a day in each enclosure and have a good look around.  25k is a lot of money to spend currently on someone else's say so.

Thanks Gents - impetuous as I am I  might investigate the Best Mate angle.
