ty boro...john hickton was the greatest goal machine in my time.

By:
u gotta lay it reveley riding like a man with no brain at the moment
By:
lol yep big John was in my time too. in fact that forward line of murdoch, mills, hickton, foggon and armstrong brings back better memories than the ravanelli, juninho, emerson era.

lol i know what u mean dave. mind you, before too long it might be the man with no whip!

If there is one thing in For Non Stop's favour i suppose it would be that there are only five runners. therefore i suppose the pressure on its jumping ability would not be as great, as opposed to a field of say 10 runners. But ive always thought cheltenham had some of the stiffest fences and mistakes there are usually costly.

Would that be Karen or the bloke whos name i cant remember. Although i think Karen died come to think of it!

Well i suppose you can at least guarantee that Jolly Roger will be fit and the trainer just seems to be getting winner after winner at the moment. Interesting though that that ones jockey Paul Moloney who is also riding plenty of winners recently has never rode a winner at cheltenham. 0-57 or something like that. Mind you Tim Vaughan who trains Bottman has never trained a winner here either, but im told that may change today well fingers crossed anyway.

The fav is different class, surely?
That'll Do is a flat track horse with no guts for a battle Same applies to Jolly Roger The rag was beaten last time by a horse that made five serious blunders. Bottman looks next best. The danger to the fav is the man on top. |
By:
Which is a big danger tally!
By:
Tally, i agree on hurdles form it looks to be the best horse in the race, but i was told on monday that the horse has had some indifferent schooling sessions. my view is that if it makes mistakes around this course it could make all the difference between winning and losing. at 5/4 it looked way too short

By:
well with bottman now a non runner it does kind of stuff up my lay somewhat so i think trading out is now the best option.
By:

Well well done to those who stuck with the lay. Personally i got out as my reasons for laying were twofold. And this next bit is for Reve!!
Firstly as i had mentioned i had received info on monday that For Non Stop's schooling sessions had not been entirely straightforward. As mentioned they had been a mixture of brilliance, overjumping and some right old blunders. Secondly on tuesday i received info that Bottman had schooled very well and connections fancied their chances of making a winning start over fences. I was told there were two races that they had their eye on. One was todays at cheltenham, the second was a race at worcester next wednesday. i have not spoken to anyone since tuesday so i have no idea why the horse was withdrawn. as it was so close to the off i am guessing something went amiss today either with the horse or it may be that they felt the ground was too quick after watching the first race. |
By:
Now the reason i got out is that part of my lay was based on the fact that Bottman was expected to run well. In the end i probably need not have done so as the info i had was correct. Apart from the first two fences which For Non Stop jumped well, it had to fiddle a lot of the fences, making significant errors at the 3rd and 6th and eventually got in too close at the second last, clouted it and came down.

By:
at least you've been.. [smiley:crazy]
By:
very noble of you sharing our inside info. most people would just lay / back the advised selections, just like most connections running a horse at cheltenham that jumps poorly wouldnt allow it to go off 11/10![]() |

many many moons ago i had to regularly drive through that particular area mr hunt. and at night time too. not a pleasant experience..
