*an "air-cushioned" whip, not forgetting.

So is that settled - none of you anti-whip boys approve of jump racing and horses risking their lives jumping obstacles at speed?
I thought as much. After all, not many horses have died after being persuaded with an air-cushioned whip to try and go faster towards the end of a Flat race. |

Well said George in fact the whole industry can be seen as cruel as we breed these horses for racing it is not natural. What happens to all the horses who dissappear after 1 season. Then while we are at it Fishing, Greyhounds, Crufts, eating any animal all cruel. Nothing however is worse than hitting a horse 1 more time than you should.Anti whip brigade should get life.

Actually I think the worst cruelty happens to the horses at the end of their careers. People are happy enough paying money to stable & feed their horses while they are in training, but too many don't think about supporting the horse after its racing days are over. Not just the ones slaughtered for dogfood/glue/whatever, there are too many abandoned, neglected or maltreated.
