scooper/rider - Hughes has just irritated me by saying that the new whip rules are 'not fair on punters', this coming from a jockey who once said 'I ride for owners not punters' when asked why he didn't ride out for places.

Whether Richard Hughes is the best placed person to say it or not, it's about time someone inside racing has mentioned that punters are affected by this rule.

avi i think that was in reply to using the whip when riding for a place. i know hes generally poor about riding out for places but tbf thats a seperate matter and its the stewards fault for not enforcing it.
i get where youre coming from but with regard to punters being unfairly treated, would you prefer he said nothing and that itsonly jockeys, trainers and owners affected?
