Isn't the whole mental image the actual word conjures up of pain, hurt and mistreatment the possible issue here?

I think a lot of this non-debate is psychological in some arenas.

Hilarious when you read about half ton horses being 'thrashed' with those air cushioned 'whips'...

The correct word should be 'tickled'
