Just a thought, could an owner bring over an Irish based jockey for a big race.
basically my main question is could the Irish based jockey ignore the British whip rules knowing the ban has no jurisdiction in Ireland and will have no effect on his future earnings because he's based in Ireland for most of the year anyway, or are these whip bans universal?.

It will be universal.
They`ll have difficulties getting a US team for The Shergar Cup.

However - as I have just posted on another thread. re: CHELTENHAM.

Your an Irish jockey - you get a ban - it's reciprocal in Ireland.

But they only race on the odd day in Ireland - and some of them will be on the Flat - starting during the potential subsequent ban period.

BAN INEFFECTUAL.

fair point onlooker so basically a 15 day ban might turn out to be an 8 day ban when blank days are taking in to account
