"if your in contention turning for home dont worry about this whip rule, you hit that horse as much as possible to get the win,ill cover all your expenses if you receive a ban"
I remember Rewilding getting 29 or so cracks of the whip from Dettori at Royal Ascot this year and he certainly wouldn't have won with the excessive use. Now I have a dilemma as I backed Rewilding that day and was urging Frankie to give it all he'd got. So it would seem that money in my case, race prestige and stud values in the case of the Sheiks tends to make the whip rule invisible and I dare say, will always be the case. IMHO the only solution is to ban it completely and live with the consequences that maybe the best horse wins. Now there's a novelty.

Why did they introduce whips in the first place if the best horse always won? VDR? Complete cretin

Your an Irish jockey - you get a ban - it's reciprocal in Ireland.
But they only race on the odd day in Ireland - and some of them will be on the Flat - starting during the potential subsequent ban period.
BAN INEFFECTUAL.

So a 5-Day ban could be spread over around a fortnight - whilst they find 5 Jump meetings, then.
I'm sure they will be worried about missing 5 'gaff meetings's at Downpatrick, Sligo, Bellewstown, Clonmel and Ballinrobe.
