So the RSPCA and McCririck are spouting off about the horses being beaten when they run a race. Some do, some don't and some just need a push in the right direction. Lets compare....

Horse in the field of a nobody. Rain, hail, sleet and maybe an open hut for shelter. A bit of corn if they are luck and mainly forced to eat grass. Un groomed, un shod, rain rot you name it.

Horse in training. Best food, best stable, best medicine, re shod regular, teeth floated, hooves cared for, pampered, washed and brushed daily, basically treated like gods. Exercised everyday and nurtured, heating on in a cold winters night. They get treated better than me.... and what do we ask for all this? Run a race once a month, do your best, have a love tap or 2 to get the best out of it. Most horses respond to the whip, they are raring to go, they are trained to run, trained to fight, trained to be the best they can be. They love it.

In the eyes of the public whats worse? The down trodden cold, hungr uncared for horse that litter our fields, or the pampered and modecoddled horse in a stable?

About time the facts were put out there!!!!!!!!!!

Wasting your breath den.To most on here and out in the wider world they are nothing but a means to and end.

Some exceptions and decent people obviously and they are obvious from their posts. The vast majority will never have seen a horse in the flesh or a cow,pig or sheep.

I was brought up on 800 acres of arable with every kind of domesticated and wild animal to be found in the UK.Learned how to look after them, respect where meat came from etc.

Most antis have never even had a pet, like midwives who never had a child. All of our animals from the ferrets to the thoroughbreds were cared for better than a lot of children were.

I forsook the chance to carry on the farming etc and joined the army, however to this day respect and treat my animals as well as if not better than most treat their own family.

Of all the animals I had and have dealings with the racehorse is without doubt the best cared for animal bar none. All the antis can shout and demonstrate as much as they want but they will be hard pushed to find a more pampered beast than a racehorse.Or a happier animal, doing what it enjoys.

I have seven dogs, try and get them to do something they dislike and there is anarchy.Try and get half a ton of horseflesh to do similar and it is impossible.Any horse that does not enjoy racing, wont race, that simple.

Only one example needed,SARISKA.

Btw anyone looking in,I am returning to the UK on Thursday,my father has been given only a few days.

I may stay for a week or two, anyone fancying a beer and a race meeting PM me.It is within the bounds of respect,he would encourage it.
