the greatest horse ever in the hands of the greatest trainer ever will grace the racecourse soon

We will be blown away once again by the devastation left in his wake .

We are privelaged indeed to witness this force of nature fly to the finish line and i thank god every day that henry was given this horse

From the doldrums and almost quitting racing to training the beast that is frankel , saturday will be a happy day for me seeing SIR henry take his rightful place at the top of racing , always a true friend to any punter no one deserves it more .

Will go off to fast cuz the jock will bottle and Immortal Verse will take advantage and cruise thru the carnage to win 2 lengths.
Or no error and Frankel wins by 5.
Either way I. Verse e/w is the bet imo

Are you still on about the tree beater? Bring her to Europe or the BC and prove her on a big stage.

Frankel worth £100 milliom..........pounds sterling....not micky mouse money..........if he never runs again.

Only way dark fish eggs can get near is to pay him for sex.

fail to see what Frankel being worth 100million pounds has to do with it, but it would be the only area he would be superior so keep clutching at that straw

It still baffles me that people are talking about the horse going off too fast as if he has done so in every race he's ever taken part in when in fact he has arguably only done that once and that was the 2000 Guineas and he still won by 6 lengths anyway!

Even in the St James's Palace Stakes it wasn't so much that he went off too fast because he didn't start to chase the pacemaker until 5f out and didn't hit the front until about 3f out, it was more a case of the pacemaker going a bit OTT after he couldn't get to the front in the guineas, so Frankel used up a lot of his running to close the pacemaker down. Fair enough he was coming back to the finishers at the end but they were the ones that couldn't keep tabs with Frankel when he quickened the pace and they were mainly running passed beaten horses that Frankel had already burnt off when those ones tried to go with him.

Either way though what difference is there if you make a decisive move from a long way out that ultimately ends up being the racing deciding move where you win by ¾L (as in the St James's) or if you sit behind others and then kick late and win by ¾L? You still win and don't get any more prize money for doing so and punters don't get paid out any more either. How many times have we all said a jockey should have kicked on and put the race to bed when instead they have sat and then found nothing when it mattered?

I really don't think it matters to Frankel anyway and think he could win at any trip from 6f to 12f regardless, although I would expect him to be ridden with more restraint over the longer trips or could win at a mile regardless of how he is ridden.

I really only bet for the financial side, group races etc i rarely take much interest apart from 2 yr olds using times as there is great value in doing it.Frankel without anyshadow of a doubt has shone out and caught my attention, the horse is very special and his racing style makes it good on the eye as well.
When he won at donny last year by 13ls it couldv'e been 20ls but was in a canter and ran faster standard time than irish heartbeat over 1/2furlong further, incredible when you watch the race as it has at 3/4 pace. From that point it's kept my interest in watching him in racing, quite interestingly last season i had strong suit miles clear on times till this fella came a long which i never thought would happen in one season.CoolShocked[;)]

John - with the greatest of respect you're talking bDevilllDevilcks

Immortal verse is a STONE behind Frankel... at LEAST!

It will take an act of God or of Lunacy by the jock for this thing to get beaten  - there's nothing in Europe over 7-10f that has his speed AND gears...

Yes, they may have been a little cautious, but there is a HUGE wight on SHC's shoulders with it being named after PKA's fav US trainer etc and he wants to do the right thing by the horse and the man's memory...

I hope they'll not only go to 10f but also go to HK and USA with it next year, as there's nothing in Europe to touch it... but at its purest level we should appreciate the sheer utter brilliance of the horse, its joie de vivre (it races with utter enthusiasm) and the skill of a trainer who has channelled this into what has proven already to be a very clever career - plenty of other trainers would have felt compelled to chase the Derby or the Breeders Cup this year, but money is no object and allowing the horse time to develop has and will continue to bear rich fruit

now anyone who seen that race will tell you Frankel fell over the line tired and im sure he took weeks to recover from that torrid run.

more common sense would have been to slowly move up to the pacemaker, take the cover, when the pacemaker tired, Frankel takes over and dictates the race to suit, probably winning by more than 6 lens....jockey error...........simple

i know if i trained/owned Frankel id be looking for a easy dominating run like he did last start not putting added pressure on the horse's fragile legs....look at poor rewinding.

the SJP was jockey error, he even said that was NOT what we discussed! i know tom said he followed instructions but i heard cecil say this live on TV so im happy with that!

i thought it was quite obvious tom panicked and actually thought his pacemaker was going to beat him, unbelieveable i know but thats what happened as there is absolutely no excuse for asking frankel at that stage in the race, just stupid quite frankly!

the even more remarkable thing was that he could hold on and still win! he would have won that race in a canter had his energy been more evenly spaced over he final 5f.

BECAUSE YOU ARE SPOUTING HORSE MANURE, presumably from the another hemoisphere...

Yeah of course Frankel had a hard race but as I said earlier, that was as a result of the pacemaker going off far too fast that time after it couldn't get to the front in the guineas. Queally clearly panicked and was probably worried that unless he made his move when he did that he had given the pacemaker too much leeway and he would have been slaughtered even worse if the pacemaker had held on.....it wouldn't be the first time a pacemaker has won a big race here.

Regarding slowly moving up to the pacemaker, it was about 10 lengths clear after a furlong and was still that far clear at halfway. Maybe if something else started to reel it in then Frankel could have followed that one but nothing else did and so Queally had a decision to make. Bear in mind too he had received loads of stick for his ride in the guineas and this was the horse's very next race and he (Queally) was under a little bit pressure and scrutiny too.

When I asked the "what's the difference" question it was regarding as I've previously said, you don't get any more prize money regardless of how you win. Equally a horse can have just as hard a race if coming from behind and just getting up on the line when all out to do so, but I'd always still rather have my horse kick and go for it from a way out than sit with the jockey looking stylish and then end up giving the horse too much to do and just getting beaten.

I think what was meant is that the horse in their opinion has already won now but the first time was a typo. Happy

I bit like a famous Lester Piggott quote when an American interviewer asked him when did he realise he was going to win the race after he'd just won the Washington International on Sir Ivor and Lester replied:

"Oh, about two weeks ago!" Silly

paulme - it went pear shaped for me when I backed Dancing Brave big to win his Derby - good old Grev Starkey ruined my day and my bank

Fortunately for me I had already won lots and lots of money by backing "The Brave" in his previous races

I won more on him when he bolted up in the Arc

Frankel will not let his Jockey decide how he is going to win the big one, he will use his own mind and run accordingly to how the race is panning out - frankels Jockey will not be able to stop him winning

Did you see how long it took to pull him up in his last race - he could have gone around again

There is no doubt on this one

Back him and back him again, borrow a years wages if you need to - just make sure your job is safe for the next two years[;)]

now anyone who seen that race will tell you Frankel fell over the line tired/i]

I was there and have watched it a dozen times since - He was NOT stopping at the line in the SJP... granted, others were closing but only because they had laid off his pace and could close, as did those that made the frame in the Guineas - those that try and go WITH him at any point get blown away. The only mistake Queally made was to panic when Michael Hills (GRADE A TW@T!) looked over his shoulder mid race and rush the horse up to the pace and away from it - not entirely surprising there was little or no turbo left for the last furlong.

[i]
and im sure he took weeks to recover from that torrid run[

So much so he came out six weeks later and demolished the best older miler in Europe!!

The Sussex was a much more mature ride and whilst SHC has said he'd not want necessarily to repeat the tactic it was an exercise in destruction of a horse rated mid 120s

Frankel much overrated imo.
Next 3 home in the Gns very mediocre.
Nearly got beat by Zoffany at Ascot. The latter was slaughtered by the veteran 2nd rater Gio Ponti in the US the other night.
Then Canford Cliffs got injured at Goodwood.
It`s all hype I tell you.
