In the post today. Not as much of a rant as McCririck obviously.

Fwiw I met Mr Wentworth at Newmarket today and stood chatting to him for about ten minutes. He was very pleasant and talked about his horse. After the race he saw me and looked disappointed but took it well.

Not your usual up their own rectum horse owner. Who cares what his past is. He puts a lot of money into the sport and is a very sporting and genuinely pleasant man.

The owner of Caspar Netscher, whose jockey today has been slagged off as a non-trier on these very forums ?
Report Ralph Malph • October 8, 2011 7:56 PM BST
Jockey is not one of my faves. My thread is regarding the owner who took the time to chat to me in the O&T bar a couple of times. Not like 80% of them at HQ who only talk if you meet the following requirements

1- Double barrelled surname
2- Pink socks/yellow strides
3- Yellow socks/pink strides
4- Have kids at a private school
5- Don't drink lager or have tattoos

"Thought Lee Mottershead did a proper job on Charles Wentworth in Post today, straws don't come much shorter than that."

Can only speak as you find imo.

Have met a few in racing- some good , some right snobby boogers. Would rather talk to Mr W than McCririck for example.

Who genuinely cares what Mottershead has to say. Another no mark journalist who are 10 a penny at that particular rag. Always remember the day they posted an apology to the Aga Khan for the "Biography" they penned on him.......would be dissapointed to see my chips wrapped in that rag

Agree with Joe, more important for LM to be seen to be saying the right thing, why do a interview at all

TBF Analogues. Most journos are peas poor. Only LydiaLoveLove,Mellish,Freemantle are worth a salt. Others just go with the flow.

They rarely criticise jockeys and trainers who blatantly use and abuse the system. Positive dope tests, non triers, cheats- all welcomed back with open arms. An owner who puts money(lots of it) into the sport gets stick for his past beliefs. Look at a certain ex trainer whose wife is a lawyer and works for CH4- not snow white but nowt gets said

Lee Mottershead couldn't savage a dead sheep. He is obviously toying the Millington party line.I remember a piece some time ago when he extolled the virtues of mass immigration to this country in a Racing Paper ! Have we really got to the stage where the looney liberals are unable to let anyone else have a point of view ? I do not agree with the BNP by the way before I to get termed a Racist...Now bring on "recommendation no bet" Pullien to tell us his view from the Guardian...
