2.20 Flash City - I'll forgive him the last run at Chester as he's not the first horse to put in a bad 'un there. Has a very good 7lb claimer on board today, is interestingly running without any headgear which may or may not be a good thing. This horse has a ton of early speed and hopefully will be able to play catch me if you can from a middle draw. Value ew at around 16-1.
4.05 Parisian Pyramid. Another one with plenty of early pace (strange that he ran over 7 furlongs lto). Although he has never won at York, apart from his first run here (19th of 20) he has a very good record over C&D - 3rd of 20, 4th of 20, 2nd of 20. Value ew at around 20-1.
4.40 Spiekeroog. Ex Henry Ceil horse has been running consistantly this season without really threatening to win, only 4 runs this season so may have a bit more petrol left than some of his rivals. A speculative bet at 8-1.
5.15 Antigua Sunrise. A regular visitor to York (12 of her 30 career starts have been there) and usually runs very well there (2 wins), should again be in the shake up at the business end of the race. Best priced at 12-1 gives decent ew value.
Newmarket
3.10 Bronterre. It'll take a very good horse to beat Power but Bronterre may well be that horse. Easily brushed aside his rivals (including Justineo) at Goodwood, this is a fairly big step up in class but may well be up to it. 4-1 or better is worth a bet imho.
Wolves
5.30 Silver Wind. Has been slowly but steadily improving on turf this summer and if that improvement is carried back over to the AW he should be well up to winning off 57. 3-1 favourite but deserves to be even shorter imho.
