The ludicrous fees they paid for F1 have made the Beeb look like prats and now they're having to cut back on all their other sports coverage.
Personally I think they should have just got rid of BBC3 and saved themselves over £100m. Its a completely pointless channel.
Report pumphol. • October 6, 2011 1:33 PM BST
Bit of a worry, they could really cut back now on their extensive racing coverage Shocked

"Hear, hear" a zillion times over.  I generally love the Beeb but by god I wish I could get back the part of my licence fee that pays for that shower.

They paid Jonathan Woss £18m, for a 3 year contract, to buy his loyalty.
When his contract ended, he repaid their loyalty, by kicking them in the nuts, and going to other channels.
My dad used to say,"it's easy to spend other peoples (tv licence payers) money.
If them at the top, had to fight tooth and nail, for funds, like private enterprise has to do, I'm sure they would spend more wisely.

They could all take a 50% deduction in their salary and still be well paid.

I bet if they advertised for staff at half the present salary they would be overrun with applicants.

Us 'posh blokes' enjoy immensely the interesting historic 'looking back' type programmes - along with other modern day enlightening documentaries.

Far better than all that 'Reality TV' tosh.

Waste Of The Day:
How the BBC squanders £2,000 a week on taxis to chauffeur Alan Shearer and Co hundreds of miles home from Match Of The Day

By Paul Revoir and Paul Sims

MailOnline - news, sport

The BBC spends more than £2,000 a week on taxis driving its big-name Match of the Day pundits between studios in London and their homes in northern England.

In yet another example of the corporation's extravagant spending, former footballers Alan Shearer, Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson are regularly chauffeured home to the North East and Merseyside at the expense of the licence fee payer.

Rather than saving money by taking a train and staying overnight in the capital, the pundits are driven hundreds of miles once the show finishes recording at BBC Television Centre in Shepherd's Bush in West London, every Saturday night.

Match of the Day pundits Alan Hansen and Alan Shearer are often chauffeured to their homes in the north of England at the expense of the licence fee payer

They are often also driven south to record the programme earlier in the afternoon  -  and have received the same door-to-door service on occasion for events like England or FA Cup matches.

Receipts seen by the Daily Mail show that it costs £580 to drive Alan Shearer the almost 300 miles one way from London to his house near Newcastle.

In the case of Alan Hansen, whose home is more than 200 miles from the capital in Merseyside, the leaked receipts show the trip costs around £470 one way. Fares for Mark
pugh

Lawrenson, who lives near former Liverpool team-mate Hansen, would come to a similar amount, although the BBC says the pair often share a cab.

If all three are driven both ways on a particular Saturday, the total bill comes to more than £2,000  -  even when Hansen and Lawrenson share.Laugh

Apparently all the leaders of the BNP do not pay the license fee.

According to their thinking the BBC license fee is illegal within the EU competition rules. If they took them to the european court the BBC would lose the case so they don't prosecute anyone that knows the rules. I'ts only mug like us they persecute but if you have enough cash they would not dare take you to court.

would not bother me if the bbc disapeared completely overnight in fact I would be glad
plenty of good TV on sky and the other channels.not that I watch that much anyway tbh apart from the sport and there is precious little of that on the bbc these days
as regards ads on radio they are annoying but the bbc advertise their own programmes all the time and they are often just as annoying as any commercial ad.
