The ludicrous fees they paid for F1 have made the Beeb look like prats and now they're having to cut back on all their other sports coverage.
Personally I think they should have just got rid of BBC3 and saved themselves over £100m. Its a completely pointless channel.

Bit of a worry, they could really cut back now on their extensive racing coverage Shocked

Who will they get rid off Claire or Willie or perhaps Rishi?

If they get rid of 20% of Willy, he's going to need a bigger box.

All 3 of them. They are all useless. Rishi Persad. WHY OH WHY does he get employed to present Horse Racing programmes? My winnets know more about racing than him.

"Hear, hear" a zillion times over.  I generally love the Beeb but by god I wish I could get back the part of my licence fee that pays for that shower.

They paid Jonathan Woss £18m, for a 3 year contract, to buy his loyalty.
When his contract ended, he repaid their loyalty, by kicking them in the nuts, and going to other channels.
My dad used to say,"it's easy to spend other peoples (tv licence payers) money.
If them at the top, had to fight tooth and nail, for funds, like private enterprise has to do, I'm sure they would spend more wisely.

They could all take a 50% deduction in their salary and still be well paid.

I bet if they advertised for staff at half the present salary they would be overrun with applicants.

You're miles out there, mick.....i believe they sell Top Gear around the World for £$£$£$$£....just about the Beebs most profitable show.

Top Gear was BBC Worldwide's biggest-selling TV show internationally last year and – alongside its fellow mega-brands Doctor Who, BBC Earth and Lonely Planet – helped earn more than £200m in revenue and more than £40m in profits.

BBC4 is an EXCELLENT Channel

Us 'posh blokes' enjoy immensely the interesting historic 'looking back' type programmes - along with other modern day enlightening documentaries.

Far better than all that 'Reality TV' tosh.

Doesn't most of the Sports budget go on Lineker, Hanson and Shearer? How many people still watch football highlights and do they watch just because those three are on? Unfortuntely, some of them are on long-term contracts but once they are up...

They are cutting back but have decided to spend millions moving to Salford & closing the BBC Centre at Wood lane which makes no sense under the circumstances imo.

So you reckon in the long run of paying much less wages , and the money from the sale of the land in London where old site is wouldn't make sense ?
