lol Educeeee with selective sound bites again, ill educated, intellectually challenged ignoramus.
Btw no one seems to have mentioned the fact that SYTs Arc run was on a par with those two world beaters,Bago and Marrienbard. [;)] |
|
By:
running the last 1000m in a sub 57 seconds, faster than even the winner. yeah it was a poor run by SYT
|
|
By:
Never said it was a poor run megsy,in the context of the race it was good. However the fact is even the winner is barely on a par with Bago who clocked 2.25 in a messy race with slightly more give in the ground and carrying more weight.
|
|
By:
you will find that bago carried 8-11 where as SYT carried more 9-5
and you failed to mention 3yr olds have a great record winning 9 of the last 11 Arc's with a huge weight pull on the older horses |
|
By:
Yes megsy correct, was thinking of Marrienbard who carried 9-5.

OnTheSnaff ...yes ive seen the horse in person, a very nervous horse when he arrived, given time to climatise and has since been re educated and toughen up. should go well, in astute hands and the new owner knows his horses and is a bigger genius, probably improved the horse many lengths.

i wonder do english horses improve for australian air?
|
|
By:
They normally improve once a jockey is placed on top not a monkey.

would you be in a position to provide what you consider an appropriate example?

sepoy heading to england next year to finish his career is on the cards, possibly the best 3yr old sprinter in 25 years. 8 wins, $3,439,500 prize money
Timeform's Gary Crispe was impressed with Sepoy, after the crack colt delivered a resounding endorsement of the superiority he displayed during his juvenile year by winning at elite level against older horses at Moonee Valley on Friday... The Peter Snowden-trained three-year-old colt Sepoy, a winner of the rare Blue Diamond Stakes/Golden Slipper Stakes double at two, demolished a top line up of older sprinters in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes over 1200m. On a slow surface, Sepoy ran to a Timeform rating of 128+ with a performance belonging only to class gallopers of his age. After dipping slightly as the barriers opened, Sepoy quickly gathered himself up and railed through to hold the lead in a fierce early battle with Queenslander Buffering. After travelling 600m, the rider of Buffering handed up the lead to Sepoy who by that stage had done plenty of early work to gain the front. Rider Kerrin McEvoy wisely steadied the colt soon after for a breather before asking him to sprint again after turning for home. And Sepoy did not disappoint, answering the call in no uncertain manner, dashing away to beat Sister Madly by over two lengths with multiple Group 1-winning mare More Joyous a further three lengths away in third. An analysis of the sectional times shows just how much pressure was applied in the final 800m. Sepoy broke 12 seconds for each of the last 200m sections of the race, and was the only horse to break 12 seconds for the last 200m, again illustrating how strong the colt was at the finish despite expending excess energy reserves early in the race. Sepoy's final race time was just over a second and a half faster than standard under slow conditions at the Valley while his final 600m was also well inside standard. The form and ratings profiles for the first four horses across the line supports a 128 Timeform rating for Sepoy while the race standard puts the race just short of the possible mid-range of values. A 128 figure makes Sepoy the highest rated winner of the race in the last 25 years and the first three-year-old since Redoute's Choice in 1999 to win the Manikato Stakes. In fact Sepoy became just the seventh of his age to win the sprint feature and significantly joined the mighty 1960's sprinter Vain as the only three-year-olds to have won the Golden Slipper and Manikato Stakes in the same calendar year. A rating of 128+ for Sepoy places him in elite company for Australian three-year-old sprinters, second only to Weekend Hussler (Timeform rated 130) in the modern era. A clash with super mare Black Caviar is eagerly awaited. IT would be the clash of a lifetime to see Sepoy matching it with Black Caviar, but tragically for Aussie punters the only possibility of such a match race eventuating will be at Royal Ascot next year. With Sheik Mohammed's wealth it is a waste of time a promoter trying to dangle a rich prize in front of the owners and, with the possibility of a $100 million stud career awaiting him if Sepoy cracks it in the UK, there is no hope of the colt staying in Australia long in 2012. |

Megsy has clearly never seen Craig Williams, Kerrin McEvoy or Hugh Bowman ride a finish - woeful

And yet our racing is rubbish, our horses poor, our trainers can't train and our riders can't ride, strange one that........ |
