Wins by 6L.

The class act in the race.

Really highlights how foolish even the most intelligent of punters are with this fellow available at bigger than 5/1.

So You Think is the obvious winner, and something will have to go wrong for him not to win.

Zippie, I take it you will be laying the almighty So You Think in both the win and place markets? If that is the case, then I will thank you in advance for your money; and am glad to inform you that I will be investing a percentage of the money I have won on a fillet steak supper.

Okeekokeee

You like the APOB "monster" from down under drawn in the car park I wish you luck, you WILL most deffinately need it based on hte draw bias over the years here.

He beat an average Workforce and a bunch of trees in Ireland as well as beaing beaten by a slow boat at Ascot where there were NO draw problems and he had the run of the race before dogging it in the finish

YAK

I think he's going to run a massive race.I get the impression that he is much better than he has shown in his previous races this season.Whilst the draw is an obvious problem and I can understand some of the doubters reasoning,I think he's the most talented horse in the line up.Massive pressure on the trainer but I think we are going to see a special performance today.
Report El Apache • October 2, 2011 1:44 PM BST
I think the jockey may be a problem. Not much winning experience of Longchamp.
Report flushgordon1 • October 2, 2011 1:45 PM BST
educee thankfully sarafina will save you the botherLaugh
Report educeee • October 2, 2011 1:50 PM BST
he hasn't shown his best in a big race against good horses, he's beaten good horses here and there but if he wants to silence the critics he needs to beat them all here today

yes there are reasons why he can't win, there will be excuses if he gets beat but for the sake of australia (and i dont mean to make it a patriotic thing) he must win this, otherwise the connections would of been better off keeping him back home and having him win the cox plate year in and year out and if he gets beaten by another horse in a canter, how bad does that make the australia staying races look

if it comes down to a tooth and nail struggle SYT will win

i've seen this animal do things you wouldn't think imaginable when he raced in aus
Report mythical prince • October 2, 2011 3:08 PM BST
like what?
Report educeee • October 2, 2011 3:14 PM BST
when he won his first cox plate he was a 2 year old and led the entire journey, he didn't beat mug horses either

when he run the melbourne cup and ran 3rd he was stepping up from 1m 2f to 2 miles and was only beaten in the last furlong

I thought the only time he got beat in europe he was outstanding, horrendous ride and deserved to get beaten further
Report KeMoH • October 2, 2011 3:15 PM BST
6.8 win and 2.74 place is massive value.

that far out the back watching each other - it's the Arc, you don't get many bad horses can't give a filly like that 12-15 lengths and 11 lbs.

more evidence that So You Think is a good horse in the northern hemisphere and nothing more.

don't know if he was better in Aus and has regressed or whatever. All runs up here, winning and losing have added up to nothing more than a decent horse. For all he was held out the back today he didn't make up any more ground (give or take a neck) than sarafina for example.

Aus performances and Coolmore hype against repeated form book evidence up here, that's not a difficult one for me.

I can just about accept (although don't agree with) those who claim Frankel to be the greatest as there is at least a case to be argued for that, unfortunately case-closed for So You Think - unless there's some dramatic improvement.
Report educeee • October 2, 2011 3:53 PM BST
don't turn this into a Frankel vs SYT war, would Frankel win from that far back in that field?

what a bizarre comment - you condemn the SYT-Frankel comparison and then extend it in the most illogical fashion.

Frankel (for the most part) has never run over further than a mile and is often front running so why would he be that far back in that field?

i dont know if Frankel or any horse would have won from there. Not meant to be a comparison between the horses more a comparison between the debates. I don't think Frankel is the best I've seen but accept there are a few points to be debated there. As far as So You Think goes, on northern hemisphere form (which might not be his best form), there is no longer a debate. He is a good horse, some would say very good, but that's it.
Report flushgordon1 • October 2, 2011 4:08 PM BST
i think the winner would have won from there.
Report educeee • October 2, 2011 4:13 PM BST
fair point Heath, i'd also like to add SYT has never gotten that far back in a race

I got no doubt they didn't think he could run the trip, he wasn't midfield or worst then midfield, he dead set in the last pair of horses, sometimes I just don't understand why they'd do it but I guess they get paid the big money to come up with that logic and not me so fair play to them
