A dozen or so years ago - Michael Stoute had a fully named -

Emily's Luck Charm

She was even entered in the Oaks.

It just did not compute - Had she been something crawling around Wolverhampton, or struggling at Southwell, trained by the likes of Brisbourne or Evans, then that would have been a fit.

El1a Mana Mou.
To Agori Mou.

Or how about Tsipura (arupist), on second thoughts that was probably well named as was Flying Wild who brought down most of the field in Foinavons Grand National.

Those Magnier horses,  if they where all in the same race and you where listening over the old tanoy system it would sound something like:- Galileo still from Charles Darwin, Yates is next on the inner with Charles Darwin now losing ground, Dylan Thomas staying on, and spot George Washington  on the  outside  making rapid late headway.  A bunch of old codgers in powdered wigs & period costume in some Monty Python sketch spring to mind!

While Holy Roman Empire would be as politically insensitive running in Meydan as if the Arabs named one Islam Rules and ran it  at  Ascot or Santa A nita!

Societe Generale, named after the french bank (well before the scandal), and fittingly a terrible, wayward animal with no manners

Shay666....It was Popham Down that brought them all down in the 1967 Grand National.
Flying Wild is innocent.

Wildmanfromborneo...I can still visualise the race & for 44 years I've been slagging off Flying Wild to anyone who would listen. Please do not tell me now that I've been mass slandering & libeling an innSadocent horse while the real culprit got away with it or I'll feel incredibly guilty!

I'm sure Fowler and Mcmanaman had one on the '90s they called "BEtty Swallocks" and they may have been responsible for trying to name on On Cool A View, for all you French speakers.

I seem to remember many years ago a horse being named Keep Your Bowels Open. Needless to say, the Jockey Club had something to say about that and the owners had to change the name to KYBO. I am probably wrong, but i think it might have had something to do with Nigel Tinkler.

Wildmanofborneo....I'm sticking with Flying Wild though whichever would be apptly named. But Popham Down!!! That would just be too uncanny & I can't even remember it running & I'm certain I'd have remembered that if it did!
