not so much the bookies , but coming out of catford dogs one sat night the 3 card trick was going , and the dealer says hold on a min is that old bill and walks away to look up the road , in the mean time one of the players ( a team member ) lifts up the queen and lifts the corner of the card a bit and puts it back , the dealer comes back says right lads last game throws the cards down with the middle card corner sticking up, well its pandemonium every ones laying fivers on this card . dealer milks it u all done turns the card bang 2 of clubs hahaha complete silence done . and no i didnt bet i had done cobblers at the dogs

michael i well remember coming out of Catford dogs back in the late 60s and stopping to watch the 3 card trick heist.Being a callow youngster i fell for the lifting of the corner by one of his crew and losing my money. Had to walk all the way home to Westcombe Park that night.
