Is there a more odious individual in racing than the Durham Pig Farmer.
Sacked Lee, Brennan & O'Regan which suggests he is the master armchair jockey (given his fat red face hes never tried it himself) and I pity poor Brian Hughes who is a cert for the boot at the end of this season know matter what the lad does.
Armed robbery is nothing to laugh at but when it happened to Johnson and he lost £20k of ill gotten gains, I had to stifle a cheeky s****.......................
Horrid bloke which puts a huge question mark over the nice guy/lady image the Wyllie's like to portray because they must listen to the Pig Farmer.................
Heres hoping the decline of his yard and the Wyllies fortunes continue apace!

Perfectly sober, Johnson is an odious individual. Paddy Brennan speaks of him in tones that make my rant seem reasonable.
Johnson is a total disgrace to racing, limited ability as a trainer, without the Wyllie's he would be the North's Richard Rowe.
What irks is that there are plenty of northern hard working trainers who would welcome (and do better) just 2 or 3 nags from the Wyllie's but they prefer to house 60 nags per season with a joke trainer who hasnt won a decent prize for them in 3 years.
The Wyllie's deserve Johnson and vice versa, long may they fail.

brilliant to see kim bailey doing well again, quality trainer. Master oats was one of my favourite horses of alltime. [;)]
If you think Phillip Hobbs is over rated HERBLINGTON then you are sadly wrong.
He knew what Menorah needed to beat Cue Card and Silviniaco Conti at Cheltenham and put in a pacemaker so the horse could come off a true pace.

Could not agree more re K Bailey, loved Master Oats and Alderbrook. Seems a genuine decent fella as well and love reading his daily blog, great entertainment.

Why do you dislike him so much though? Fair enough i leave some trainers and jockeys alone but you seem to have hatred for him. Met Wylie and his wife Chelt 05 and seemed very nice people. Youre right Mulholland with the right backing could be the next big trainer

Soemone on here told me he schools his horses less than Nicholls and boy does it show. So in my very humble opinion he is average at best.

I agree Hughes is a cracking lad and good rider and yes do wonder how you let Lee and Brennan go, not sure about O Regan. Maybe you know more about the stable than i do

has his fair share of winners and probably could do better if he wasnt ever so slightly mad..agree on the jockey sackings though,has had some real talent through the yard and do get cast aside with alarming regularity.
i do know him,when he only had a few horses in he pulled some good gambles off, i aint been to his place for about three years but he has a great spot and should have more winners,think the Wyllies need to spread their horses out a bit but they pay the bills.i think the Wyllies still sponsers some of his old jocks as they have the logo on their britches.

Longshotking is that a joke? The pacemaker clearly caused there to be a slow pace. If he hadn't been in there I dare say Silviniaco would have set a stronger tempo himself

Herb, for your imformation Howard in his time rode a canny few winners.
howard johnson is a legend and a character out of all the trainers that get interviewed hes diffrent clas and always makes me laugh.the guy gets slated on here all the time but hes trained like 8 cheltenham festival winners for wylie.

he won on Autumn Red at Leicester this week but even managed to sour that win as it was reported the horse had quite bad whip marks.....

Jesus I always thought O'Regan was by far the most talented jockey on the northern circuit and worth a few pound but each to their own. I think he has a great sense of flair about him. Why don't punters like stylish Irish jockeys?

With hindsight and the dust settled, imo Hojo did a decent job with the Wylie horses, despite the money spent.If he hadn't lost his licence through the de-nerving controversy, am sure the Wylie's would have stayed in the sport longer.
