OK, guys.
Ask yourself whether, 1) If backing on athletics or swimming, would you take into account the speeds achieved by the athletes/swimmers in the past.
Now ask yourself 2) do you do the same with horses.

If your answers are 1) Yes and 2) No then you ought to lay slow horses when they are favourites for their races. Bingo.
The majority of horses that have run slowly in the past do not improve on their figures, unless they have been put aside to win a handicap . . . so if Stoute, Gosden, Wigham etc have a favourite with a set of slow time figures ignore that handicap.

I thought most punters would have taken that into account, apparently not.

Times tell all, well 99% of the time.

Not sure how this excel spreadsheet will come out but I started keeping detailed records back in May09. Prior to that date I spent 3 years recovering losses made in the 2 years previous. The losses were always down to loss of discipline - you can't teach discipline, it's an individual thing. I can now go days without a bet if I cant find a race that matches my criteria for a bet. Also I am not now obsessed by figure in the top right hand corner, it's the long term that counts.

By:

When: 11 Nov 10 23:01
gruss , went too a local trading room , tried in running but wasnt for me , after using it for so long and watching different things , i managed to turn it around , im no huge punter and the turn around wasnt from 1 win , i trade pre race and try to make £4-£6 a race sometimes you can make more sometimes you cant, occasionally i play in play, with a tick offset of 6-7 ticks just to try and take whats above me , sometimes you can get lucky ,put  a lay in the other day on some irish horse at 2.2 for £10 and the offset was matched at 28 , next click was a green up for £128, id love to higher my stakes as i only do £10/£20 per click but it wouldnt work , nevermind im more than happy with what im doing , gl

its getting tougher to make money but my question is:

like a rich spoiled kid that always had everything easy now that times are harder he will surely have a harder time adapting instead of those that never knew any better than the current harder situation

i mean the logic is, you start hard and then it becomes easier, not you start easy and then it becomes even easier

just a thought

Ronnie, I'm visiting family in bishop Auckland and shildon in a few weeks. Staying in darlo. Any decent takeaways or restaurants? From memory bishop and shildon severely lacking.

if you like an Indian Bombay gate and babuls are top notch but top price, imperial express is a decent place for breakfast lunch and supper we go there quite often. Darlington townhouse has a restaurant called saltfish that's good, if you just want a drink 22 and hash are good also they are just round the corner from babuls. the Hideaway is nice if you just want a pint and a pizza, not any good Chinese but there is a Thai called Taipan Asia also a nice tapas bar on Bondgate The Old Yard Tapas Bar, hope this helps.

if you're a winner paudy, by virtue of having access to all bets, can see how you're doing it.

and he only wants one winner on ere, him.

so it's going to get tough for you.

when this place was invented it wasn't run by a bookmaker.  so this ^^ wasn't an issue.

so if you're consistently winning on, lets say for example, photo finishes.  well .... they're going to take slightly longer to re-open.  and when they do re-open, 'someone' will already have 21 grand up looking to get on the one that's clearly won.

Black and Wray .. not bothered.  paudy .... bothered.

aye np ronnie i'll be in touch thanks.

there simply is nothing wotsoever to exploit..to win over £10 ewe have to gamble mid race.
By:
hulk23
When: 12 Nov 25 20:39
if you put a "real money" back in mid-race at, say, 8.6

the price will drift to 8.4, but you won't get a bean matched until it's clearly beat. at which point it will go 8.6, 300, 1000.
