Folks, just need to clarify something;
What's the difference between the above bets?
£5 e/w acca; total £10
£5 e/d acca; total £10

But apparently Equally Divided accas return more than Each Way accas?
For exactly the same stake? [smiley:crazy]

I'm baffled

hi hidden agend
the difference between the two bets is that in a ED acca ure return from one selection is HAVLED on to the next, ie if u have a 20/1 winner at 1/4 the odds at £10 you will have a total return of £260 meaning ure next selction in ure acca will have £130 each way on it, does that help?

EW acc is a win acca and a seperate place acca, ED acca is an acca that the returns from each leg are equally divided at each leg EW, if that makes sense!Happy

ED will not be good if there are no winners and the place odds are less than evens, because then the stake dwindles away at each stage, whereas with EW the place part grows irrespective of the place odds. Hope that makes some sense.

You need to see a few examples that gives a balance view mate tbh but just bear this example in mind as it illustrates the extremes that can happen when you don't pick winners , as explained by Xerophyte.

£5 e/way Yank with all 4 placed at 5/1 @ 1/5th 1,2,3 and no winners...stake £110

Traditional method of win to win & place to place.....returns £360 ( + £250 )

Equally divided same bet..............................returns £110 ( nil profit )

There is a place for ED in my opinion but the place % book would certainly be at least one criteria of which bet to play.

Good luck mate  Happy

In very simplistic terms if you are doing e/w accas because the place odds are overbroke (eg careful each ways etc) then don`t go ED.

If you are doing the e/w accas because the win and place present good value then do ED.

You will soon get a feel for which is best in a particular scenario however I think that few selections are value in the win and the place book therefore I do either e/w accas or win doubles or similar rather than ED.
