Dresses for the ladies and suits for the gents suitable, or something more casual or more fancy?

TIA

I would suggest, Fred Perry shirt with Stone Island Jacket for upper apparel. Downstairs CK underwear hanging over a pair of amarni jeans and round that off with a pair of adidas court star trainers preferbly in white.

Thank me later

bring an extra shirt incase u lose the 1st one
Report mussleburgh man May 25, 2010 12:41 AM BST
As for the ladies, a miss sixty boho number, no bra, flat shoes and a Red or Dead handbag. This should suffice

cheers

Thanks for the amusing responses, but anyone have any sensible or informative answers? ;)

LaughgOT TO LOVE FAWWON'S APPROACH....
Report mussleburgh man May 25, 2010 12:44 AM BST
Id go casual m8 to be honest. No need to dress up unless you in a box or havin lunch...
Report crags May 25, 2010 12:46 AM BST
Just jeans and casual clothing will be fine. Any man wearing a suit in Hexham will be on his way to court.
Report The Shuffle Globetrotter May 25, 2010 12:46 AM BST
Cheers.

If we were wearing dresses (ladies) and suits (gents), would we look out of place, so to speak?

We're just making a day of it, and would like to go 'gladrags n all', but don't want to stand out, if you know what I mean mate?
Report mussleburgh man May 25, 2010 12:49 AM BST
I would imagine tweed suits, barbour jackets etc is the apparel fo choice among the rich farmers. But to be honest a nice suit and dress wouldnt be out fo place.

Have a good one nice little gaff track
Report The Shuffle Globetrotter May 25, 2010 12:54 AM BST
Cheers.

So despite being able to go casual, dresses and suits wouldn't make us stand out, and would be fine for the day?
Report elise May 25, 2010 12:55 AM BST
men - flat cap, donkey jacket, whippet on a piece of string

women - as above but without the hat
Report mussleburgh man May 25, 2010 12:57 AM BST
No problems with suits, dresses i dont care what others think of my apparelso i advise you not to either. Have a good drink keep the stakes small and follow the late money. They generally know at the gaff tracks..

have fun

Unshaven & sweating profusely, knotted handkerchief on the head, large white collar shirt worn open neck and turned outside of a moth eaten blue blazer, grey chip fat & ketchup stained ankle swinger Farah trousers, white socks worn inside open plaited sandals should make you inconspicuous amongst the crowd in the members enclosure........that's the women sorted, now for the men........Mischief
Report elise May 25, 2010 1:09 AM BST
you been looking in the mirror kenny?  :)
Report daniels mother May 25, 2010 1:12 AM BST

De Rigueur is that Gentlemen wear undergarments and Ladies keep their thrupenny bits unexposed.
Report wee eck May 25, 2010 7:57 AM BST
Seriously Shuffle take some warm clothing with you late on it can get seriously cold.
Report Outpost May 25, 2010 8:22 AM BST

The only course where you are not allowed in if you ARE wearing a tie.
Report morpteh mackem May 25, 2010 9:33 AM BST

Report carrig1 May 25, 2010 10:25 AM BST
Stretch, wtf are beatle crushers?
Report kennythebetboy May 25, 2010 11:48 AM BST
So cold there the hot dogs are known as "frozen turds"

Beatle crushers = DM's (highly polished)
Report The Shuffle Globetrotter May 25, 2010 5:56 PM BST
So is the general consensus that we wouldn't be out of place in suits/dreses, but to wrap up a bit just in case?
Report 1st time poster May 25, 2010 5:58 PM BST

Shuffle
Just go dressed as you would to any other racecourse but make sure you have warm coats in the car as it can get chilly up there.
Surpringly they do speak the same language but you'll have to get used to the different notes if you go into the betting ring. You'll find they bet with English,Scotch & Irish money with very few complaints from anyone. It's all legal tender & those Bookies can spot wrong uns straight away.So if you're paid out with Scotch or Irish I think you'll find it's alright & not snide money.

Thanks for the replies so far, chaps.

Thinking of maybe suit and tie etc, but could always remove the tie if we look too 'done up' lol?
