Can anyone recall a racing system that was on sale circa 1982-3 ? A young lad doing some decorating has got me talking about racing and he used to take it seriously before getting married and used to pay for updates to a system that he paid £8 for which consisted of a few photocopies with rules that served him well for a while. It went something like
1. a horse had to be  in the first 6 in its last race
2. there was a value for the class (prize money) of the its last race and a value for this current race
3. weight carried last time and weight carried this time
4. how long since its last run

there were some other rules but this is all he recalls, although many systems could relate to these above it had the name of analyzer in it.
Can anyone advise what it most resembles now ?

Nowadays sites like horseracebase.com and adrianmasssey are used for these types of criteria systems. Unfortunately you cannot remember all of the criteria.
All you can do is to google search for them, (there are a lot for sale on ebay) or

if you can remember all of the criteria I can build a system on horseracebase and let you know the P/L over the last 6 years or so

Not correct driver, I use Andy Beyer to caluclate my own speed ratings and have been quite successful for more than  decade. Just my hobby,no big claims here. I only posted this as I thought somebody could recall the system he wanted to talk about while he is painting my house. As  I am off to York now for 3 days it appears 'we' are out of luck. Good luck today
