I fear that he may not run, given that he was pulled out of the Classic Trial at Sandown because of fast ground, and it looks like it may be even faster at York on Thursday. Having backed him for Epsom, I have a horrible feeling that he may end up waiting for Ascot instead. Hope I'm wrong though.

Pulled out of Guineas .Pulled out of Sandown Classic trail. Pattern starting to emerge . If he is pulled out of Dante surely won't run in Derby without a prep? Could he take in the predominate at Goodwood

THE going for the Dante meeting at York, which starts on Wednesday, was changed on Tuesday after the course avoided showers in the local area.

With barely any rain falling on the track, officials updated the ground description to good, good to firm in places from good, with a GoingStick reading of 8.6.

Speaking on Tuesday night, clerk of the course William Derby said: “We’re now good, good to firm in places after a dry day. There have been a few showers swirling around us but just spots falling here.

“It’s forecast to be dry overnight, but there are clouds around so we won’t be watering this evening.”

Sunny spells are forecast forWednesday, but temperatures will remain cool at 12C and the possibility of showers during the three-day meeting will increase later in the week.
