had no interest in the race but the horse was never going , poor ride ? maybe

poor knowledge of the horse. always take a while to get going. needed to get it out and under pressure much earlier

Holland's only mistake was to let MB find his stride in the first furlong instead of getting a better pitch 4th or 5th, by then MB was last and needed shoving along. But that is nit-picking, horse took too long to quicken off a fast pace.

Holland is pish. You could make a case if you were desperate, to put him up on a front running type, but anything where there is a semblance of skill or thought needed, forget it.
