Went to the 1000 today and that overturning of the result was a sickening decision..... and shows how moronic the newmarket stewards are.

Report Diamond_Joe_Quimby May 2, 2010 6:52 PM BST
Yes what a joke the stewards are.....sticking by the rules....imagine that, the cheek..
Report dawks May 2, 2010 6:52 PM BST
Joke decision, seen far worse than that a 1000 times and no change of result,
no consistency at all

If Criquettes had won and been done in the Stewards room...most people would have said justice had been done imo.
Report slickster May 2, 2010 6:54 PM BST
tough call. think the fact it was a nose and the cecil horse carried the eventual winner half way across the track meant they came to the correct decision.
Report Roger De Bris May 2, 2010 6:54 PM BST
the betting was 1.3 JQ and 3.0 SD first off the bat. Then Mellish was definite it would be reversed, Lydia agreed and they both went practically Evs.
Report crediter May 2, 2010 6:55 PM BST
correct decision ...didnt think it would take that long to announce.
Report gman500 May 2, 2010 6:58 PM BST
The horse had every chance to go past in the final furlong and didn't want to...

Gutted for King Henry though ...what a grand job he has done with this filly.

Fantasy I know...But I wonder if the Longfellow eg. had got half a length on Jacqueline at the line the result would have stood.
Report gman500 May 2, 2010 7:16 PM BST
gutted for him too and the owner..... winners should share prize money
Report loper May 2, 2010 7:18 PM BST
