Yeah but I doubt he backed it somehow, he probably backed one of the many which were tailed off in rear.

It is amazing how many mentally retarded punters who don't understand maths/probability believe you can't have value in short priced horses and come up with childish BS such as "never bet odds on".

An Even money shot is great value if its true chance of winning is 1/2.

A 1/2 shot is great value if its true chance of winning is 1/4.

A 20/1 shot is poor value if its true chance of winning is 50/1.

The reality is, far more short priced horses are value bets than longer priced horses.

Short priced horses are underbet, and longer priced horses are overbet as one racing expert pointed out a few years ago.
