I get exactly what she is saying she wants information spoon feed and wrote on the card all Im saying is her first complaint about the trainer was way off the mark, I even posted a stable tour from last year which tells the details and if she put some effort in she would have easily have seen all the info about King Of Dixie on the day of the Ascot race in the Racing Post she bought. Thats my 2 cents :) I think the whole thing has gone over your heads tbh

I did not complain about the trainer, only the situation whereby we do not know when a horse has been gelded. Why should I, if I had the time, have to wade through stable tours, trainers comments and spotlight comments for every horse on every card on every day for this simple information that could be indicated by a g' where we currently have the b' and the v' ? Anyway most of the time this information is not there anyway, so there goes your idea. What is wrong with spoonfeeding us information? If you are so stupid that you like getting this information the hard way then there is no hope for you. |

You found out days later after buying a newspaper on the day that had it wrote in two different sections and you think theres no hope for me and Im stupid hahaha. You would be better off enjoying a pass time like knitting Annie tbh. |

You are stupid because you have completely missed the point of this thread. The thread is about being able to see WHEN a horse has been gelded in the FORM. Not in stable tours, trainers comments, spotlight comments etc. As stated before even if you had the time to read all of that this information is usually missing anyway. |

annie. - I fully agree with your suggestion. I am a fan of King of Dixie but, for much the same reasons as you have given, I did not realise he had been gelded. As you know, a gelding is bodily lighter than a colt and needs less work to reach racing condition. Geldings are tough, reliable and usually consistent. You may have heard of the much quoted comment over the years from the late trainer R J Colling who said "If I had a stable full of geldings, I'd get the bookmakers on the run".

Thanks, newsouth, I was beginning to think the racing forum was full of idiots.
It was a race I do not usually bet on, just four runners I think. However I thought king of dixie had a chance but was surprised he had been well backed. When he won I looked at his form again and again although he was good I did not understand the extra interest. So when william knight said that today it all fell into place. It has been a longstanding annoyance with me that so much that is of interest to us is denied to us. Wind operations, pregnancies, recent gelding operations etc. And, unlike several forum posters, I do not have the time to read umpteen pages of the racing post to MAYBE find this information out. It should be in the form, just like declaring blinkers etc. Racing for change is always bleating on about going racing but it is us punters that keep the show on the road. Instead of spending on all this 'change' they should first put their own house in order. We have to drag concessions out of them, like pulling teeth. |
