Fact -He will never critisise a jockey while ever he can draw breath...
Fact he is slightly more knowledgable than he appears at first listen, (and much more han some who think they know something).

Philbet I have no doubt at all that he 'Knows his stuff' and is very knowledgable. which is what makes what he says so annoying as he knows when someone has ridden a shocker but refuses to say so under any circumstances. if someone has made a** up I expect the presenter/pundit on a pay to watch specialist racing channel to say so, not keep glossing over things all the time.

This business about him looking at the camera and grinning - it's what they're told to do on the media training course that they all have to go on.

As for not criticising jockeys / trainers - he's hardly likely to when it's his job to interview them for the RP / RUK.

Always puts a shift in as the Post 'live reporter' & his paddock positives are usually good.
That said, he adds little to pertinent discussion on the sport & really not suited to tv in all honesty
