Not won since September 2008 but has been running in the top company ever since really (12 of his last 17 runs coming in Group races) and I think this race looks here for the taking. All 6 of his career wins have come over this trip of 5f on good ground or better (1 win on aw). Quite impressed with his run last time out at Nottingham as the ground was softer than ideal and the race itself wasnt run to suit. He much prefers coming late off a strong pace but ended up in front with 1f to go due to the lack of early (probably set it up for winner Wi Dud). He should come on from that as he usually takes a run or two to put him straight. The thing I like here is that although he only has 5 rivals, Striking Spirit, Grissom and Jargelle all like to force the pace. Hopefully, they will take each other on and hinder one another while Tom Eaves justs sits in behind. Striking Spirit has never ran over this 5f trip in all 17 starts and has never won anything better than a Class 3 so Im happy to be against him. Jargelle has some good form in the book but may not get things his own way and was slammed last titime out when 9th in a Class 2. Id much rather be on a two time Group 3 winner with his optimum conditions. 13/8 Jcoral. 2.58 here
Good ride from Tom Eaves there. Bit surprised that he raced so handy but judged it very well and won cosily. Keep an eye on Striking Spirit when back at 6f. Ran on well and will improve on that. Thanks.
