"hard" isn't allowed by the BHA anymore.

most courses don't even like firm now and will water the hell out of the track and call it good to firm.

hard to motorway at Bath in the summer

went to a chepstow meeting in summer 1976 when the official description was HARD.fields that day were incredibly small due to the rock hard going..rememebr backing wephen and ghost.jockeys david dineley and ron hutchinson if memory serves.

no . he fell into bad times im afraid . he had a bit of a breakdown but hes ok now they all look after him a bit down there.

glad to hear that sc.he seemed to go from hero to zero in double quick time.

personally, i loved the group1s on fast ground even if fiels sizes were small,

rapid lad would have been an unknown if he was running now.

he loved it when the track was like a road.

Remember when the likes of Grey Dolphin and Yangtse-Kiang used to rattle round on hard groud for Milton Bradley/Granville Davies 25-30 years ago.

Yangtse-Kiang, now theres a blast from the past.
