By:

By:
Not a s good as Footstepsinthesands as someone was telling me the other day. Rofflightful.
By:
Mill Reef was b4 my time but ive got the race on DVD and I reckon EGS has got to rank upsides.
It was the quality of the opposition he mullered that day on the bridle that makes it special 4 me. |
By:
i still think one day he will win that derby.
By:
You may want to quickly insert BG in there Geoff... ;)
By:
geoff
by some way the best winner of the 2,000 guineas in the last 35 years,on the day itself kings best was very impressive indeed but the opposition was no where near as strong. |
By:
Correct Gerard . mental block.
Usually sh1t hot on the old races but cant recall what won yesterday. |
By:
The Brig/Tudor Minstrel/Zilzal/El Gran Senor
For me |
By:
Very sexist Zil,
wot about Miesque and other ladies :D |
By:
youtube has some fantastic racing from that era including zilzals sussex
By:
King's Best is never mentioned in lists of all time greats is he? Presumably as he really only has that performance to his name - it was a quite startling one though.
By:
Thats the order Timeform have them in Info
Think Miesque was around 134 |
By:
pebbles info
By:
Agree Gerald, what a pity he couldnt be kept sound, went past the iron horse as if it was sanding still
By:
i think that would be the reason gerard.
By:
Hi Jimnast . Thats what I like about Troys Derby(never got full credit but as good a Derby performance ive seen) not just the style but the quality of opposition that got mullered.
By:
Pebbles was a wonderful filly but probably at best over mile and a quarter,
imperious in the champion stakes :) |
By:
Pebbles best form was over 10-12f though, her mile form wasnt that special, her champion stakes win is one of my favourite races
By:
she still won the 1,000 guineas though.
By:
So did mystiko ;)
By:
geoff
dickens hill eclispe northern baby champion stakes ela mana mou king george as a 4yo tap on wood 2,000 guineas |
By:
info please dont mention that horse he spoiled my life changing bet.
By:
True she did, but beating Meis El Reem and Desirable and then getting beaten by Katies at RA doesnt stand up with her form over longer
By:
Pebbles that day was imperious.
Pulling Edderys arms out, went past on the bit. Cant recall full depth of field but I reckon Commanche Run was in their who had beaten Oh So Sharp in the Benson & Hedges from a superb waiting in front ride from lester. |
By:
info, lay off the sherry, he won the 2000
By:
Slip Anchor too.
By:
i would agree with that zilzal
By:
Dancing Brave and Zilzal for me.
By:
Yes Jimnast but 2 other classic winners to add to the list
By:
Mystiko did well to win the 1000 guineas. As it also dotted up on the Saturday in the 2000 ;)
By:

Did Ela Mana also win the Eclipse as a 4 yr old prior to K.George?
By:
