State pension is a universal benefit so affects a lot more people and the tories want to increase the age for men to 66 in 2016, labour will wait til 2024. If they want to save money then they should do something about child benefit - means test it and limit it a max of 4 children per mother. About 50% of council tax goes on schools so I am already paying enough for other people's children. |
