when will the racing for change admit that this is all they need to do to make racing more popular? their only problem is properly funding racecourses in the absence of extortionate gate money. of course if they want to improve it, as they have been saying, give us horse weights, not just the weight they carry, accurate going reports and sectional timing.

The more popular going racing becomes & interest in the sport rises so imo the off course betting turnover and profits will increase and so the levy will also increase.
It need someone to grasp the nettle and say free racing apart from certain days which already sell out. It would require a short term deficit though and there is no pot of reserves to dip into.

really do think free entry is the key...........the ascot crowd was up 11,000 yesterday...thats a lot of extra profits on everything a racecourse can sell.....surely more than compensates for the lost revenue on the gate.....away from festivals/Saturdays etc surely this is the only change racing needs?
