i know flying bolt seems to like trying to have an argument with me. im not for 1 minute saying ask wont win but at the prices i wouldnt back him because he hasnt proved he stays . ide be pretty confident myself that yankee doodle of obriens will definitely improve alot for the step up in trip and at a big price take a little risk on him improving although hell need to

If you think Paktai would be a 4/7 shot perhaps you should take up gardening. Are you sure you want to stand by that statement ?

fb, there was a slight exaggeration, not even yeats in his pomp would have been those odds at this stage, you must be the worlds biggest jobsworth not see a little artistic license

Don't think he would be 4/7 either personally, Ask's class would see him stay the trip
By:

zilzal, not even fb would fall for that statement

Rider, I presumed you meant if he turned up on the day,

If that is not correct then wtf did you mean ?

fb it should be obvious, even to the most clueless jobsworth, that paktai, as a progressive 5yo would have been aimed at a race he was unlucky in last year and would have had a a very good chance of winning, fck he must be in everyones notebook, so 4/7 is a send up of how obvious the tip is...get it now ?

im gonna back yankee doodle for the gold cup ew. they must rate the horse pretty highly and have high hopes theyve not used him as a frigging pacemaker yet
By:

Oh you were joking were you ?.................and there was me thinking you were a clueless twerp who would backtrack on his statement when challenged.

how was Patkai unlucky last year?
By:

When: 28 Apr 10 17:16
flyingbolt give it a rest . i would have definitely made him favourite thats for sure.
By:
dananders
When: 28 Apr 10 17:17
he was unlucky last year in the sense that he ran into yeats on a going day. hed have won 15 lenghts without him . take yeats out of the race last year if he waa fit hed now be trading even money ante post favourite
By:
flyingbolt
When: 28 Apr 10 17:17
Oh well if you would have made him favourite that's it then.

:^0

Which tracks is it you stand at ?

so every horse that took on Sea the Stars was "unlucky"?
By:
dananders
When: 28 Apr 10 17:23
take yeats out of the race last year he won by at least ten . and every 1 would have been raving saying how brilliant he is . and he would undoubtebly be favourite ante post for this race. im not saying every horse that ran behind sts was unlucky but the 2nd horses against sts didnt beat every other horse in the field by 15 lenght

fb you need to lighten up a bit, the price on the day would depend on many things, but the point remains the same its all a bit obvious

Last years Gold Cup was a weak renewal. Yeats was on the downgrade. Patkai is a good horse and would have a chance if fit.
He would no way be a "certainty" or an odds on shot.

were is ask starting off this season? what happens if he wins a group 1 over a mile and a half this season again . i dont c why they would run in the gold cup if it does
By:

When: 28 Apr 10 17:34
Eastern Anthem isn't top class and Yeats wasn't on the downgrade last year.

If he hadn't been in the race who's to say what the line up would have been.
By:
dananders
When: 28 Apr 10 17:35
to be fair he was on the downgrade wasnt he yeats . if he wasnt they wouldnt have retired him. and eastern anthem is a group 1 winner regardless. i dont think hes top class but he has won a group 1

ide have to say that was a truly legendary training performance from obrien to get yeats to run like that in the gold cup

no gold cup winners in that field thast for sure

dananders 28 Apr 15:02

its quite obvious that patakai is going towin the gold cup or at least be in 1st 3 . no horse in that race will be placed in the gold cup . big bucks could win a gold cup double though imo . shame he needs ruby to ride

i fancy yankee doodle to improve a bit . guaranteed stayer by the looks of it . might not improve enough but ew at 28s not too bad. ballydoyle must rate him because theyve not ued him as a flamin pacemaker yet
