Evens is 1.00 and not 2.00 7/4 is 1.75 not 2.75 15/8 is 1.88 and not 2.88
Wouldn't it have been much easier to use the current exisitng decimal odds in place on online bookmakers and exhanges instead of deducting one from each odd.
I understand it is suppose to be your return i.e 1/1 or 1.75/1, 1.88/1 and so on but instead of making it easier it's trying to confuse exchange bettors, who will forever being have to add one to every number in their head when betting on-course.
its the best solution to a rotten idea. say two bookies ,one using decimal the other fractional . the horse is a 7/1 chance so his board displays 7 the decimal bookie displays 8 , can you imagine the rows if the horse won? A desperate idea that if implemented would rub up the sports true supporters on the off chance it may attract a few more 2 bob punters through the gate.
