Even money is 1.0 at Ascot today. FFS.
By:
FFS
i'm confused already. FFS |
By:
but 2.00 normally
By:
Well ascot are obviously not using the proper system are they, as reconised by almost all bookmakers and exchanges.
By:
uk - its not Ascot, its Racing For Change & a grand total of 3 bookmakers are doing it out of a whole ring full.
I think you call it half hearted. |
By:
They dont want it to work!!!!
By:
Why not show evens as 2 ??????
By:
because they're idiots?

From the other thread, this is a bl00dy good reason IMO:
wasnot 28 Apr 09:53 I understand what you are all saying and for experienced punters it makes perfect sense. The trouble is that experienced punters are in the minority on course and if they see 5.0 on a board they will expect 5/1 to their money. A lot of the people we have to deal with throughout the summer are argumentative aggressive and short tempered & I can see fighting on the racecourse if decimal odds including stakes were ever introduced. |
By:
The bookies and course should not bow to these people and if they get angry, they should be imprisoned. Simple.
By:
Racing for Carnage
By:
to the poor punter looking at the odds
one book shows 4.0 one book shows 3/1 what percent would think the first was bigger. in my experience it would be over 90% |
By:
True.
By:
Evens should be 1 imo, it's 1-1 init. Do you win one times your money or two not counting the steak?
By:
Also tens on should be 0.1
By:
That makes some sense Stow.
I presume Betfair use the other system BECAUSE it make their odds look bigger. |
By:
is it true that 100/30 will be
4.333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 |

Don't they teach fractions at school these days?
By:
Have a look at the fractions in the current bun, apparantly evens is 1.00!!! etc amazing scenes
By:
stupid. the publi wnt have a clue most of them
By:
Mcririck and geoff banks getting the decimal odds wrong. you couldn't make it up!
By:
In that J mcCrick piece both he and the booky being interviewed said 0.33 was 3/10, surely its 1/3.
Not much chance for the laymans if the pro's are not sure!! |
By:
.33 is 10t3 on LOL er no it isnt DEARY ME.
Fair enuff try this but surely the need to make it uniform-ie 1.33 like tote and bf daq etc. What a shambles |
By:
utter shambles, surely the whole point was to make it uniform, now people won't have a clue

salmon spray 28 Apr 12:27
That makes some sense Stow. I presume Betfair use the other system BECAUSE it make their odds look bigger. EXACTLY |
By:
We have American odds on a UK based site.
They changed the soccer forum to football, perhaps it's time they sorted out the odds |
By:
odds have always been expressed as return tho, it's not just betfair is it, tote and everyone else do the same
baffling why on-course want to do it different, just makes their odds look smaller and confuses everyone in the process |
By:
5 out of 3 people can't do fractions!!!
