FBS , i would be very confident that it wasnt filmed on a raceday , certainly the race wasnt a real one.

If I remember correctly, Haley Turner won the race in question, Emma Spencer refused to interview her so Michael Caine had to step in and do the interview!

The dulcet tones of the Bookmaker calling the odds was the former gentleman of the Northern rings,Jimmy Grey who traded as Matt Lowery.
Pure c--- on the track but not a bad bloke to have a drink with off the track. If there was ever a Jekyll & Hyde it was him.
The big hall where the party was held was Dryerdale Hall, later the home of slot macine king Vince Lander.Ended its days being mysteriously being burnt down.

My all time number 1 film, especially the black and white cut. Had a score on last night just for the memories. Thanks for the link above.

It was definitely a proper race in the film. The winner was a horse called Goodison owned by the Everton captain Brian Labone who was in the 1966 England world cup winning sqad.
