4th in this last year, leading most of way and gamely staying on when
caught.Best run this season 2nd in Kerry national.Forget his last 2runs both hurdles.7lb claimer takes weight
down to 10-5(3wnrs carried more than 11st last 16 runnings). Will love the going and horsesa who run well in this seem to the next year.
Closely matched with Lacdoudal on lst years running and much bigger in the market.
Looks, by the way they have campaigned him, this has been the main target.30+ seems very big here.W&pl.
GL ALL.

had ground last time out and ran really poorly
Report ilikewavingatbuses • April 24, 2010 3:23 PM BST
yeah it happens but ha claims on form, hardly that much of a suprise, sure there was a threadd put up on him by penzance at noon!!
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 3:29 PM BST
I know they have targets, as always in handicaps u want to protect the handicap mark for its target and yes it has been his target this season after running well in this last year. However I watched that hurdle run last time and he barely went a yard and looked totally out of love with the game, it just goes to show that u are putting your hard earned on the faith of a animal!!!!!!!!!

PLACE BETTING AMATEUR

Last time the ground was officially "Yielding", it was much softer looking at the times.
On top of that is was a HURDLE race.
Keep practising.
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 3:31 PM BST
It was good ground Flyingdope!!!! plus all his best form had been with cut such as six of his wins

Report flyingbolt • April 24, 2010 3:36 PM BST
I repeat PLACE BETTING AMATEUR the ground for his last run was officially "YIELDING". Look at the form book if you can read.

The time was 30 secs slower than standard which suggests it was considerably slower.

Now which part of that can't you understand ?
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 3:39 PM BST
Still no excuse on his performance flyingdope, ran like a diseased rancid piece of meat!!!!
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 3:39 PM BST
Soft ground suits the horse
Report flyingbolt • April 24, 2010 3:40 PM BST
If you think Church Island wants soft ground good luck with your future betting.

You will need it.
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 3:46 PM BST
didnt do to bad when he won at doncaster, I didnt say he needed soft gound, I said he acts on ground with cut in it also. last run was awful end of debate flyingdope, ran like a horse out of love with the game
Report GANT007 • April 24, 2010 3:46 PM BST

Trainer says "he just loves this fast ground"
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:02 PM BST
no real arguement is there against it, ran awful last time out, like most horses doesnt run well until the pot is bigger enough to win, basically because the handicapper knacker there chances and they have to get a run into the horse, also if it runs badly they get a bigger price next time out. Horse racing is and has always been a mugs game to punt in, only adictted gamblers punt on this sport and after the event come out with IT WAS ALL THERE TO SEE, making out like they never lose a bet, seek help fellas before u have nowt to say about your life other then I WAS STUPID ENOUGH to put my faith in a animal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only people I feel more sorry for is those MUGS that spend all there time working out ratings and paying for ratings as well, U cant put a figure on a animal and then when u finally think u get a horse nailed in terms of ability it regresses or loses it appetite for the game and fight and then gets his last pay day in the sun when all is seemed to be loss with the horse, only people who win are bookies & people involved in the racing, the public punters see the first part of this post, U WILL NEVER make hay, well one might get lucky, but for every one there is 2,000 that fail.

Report flyingbolt • April 24, 2010 4:05 PM BST
I'm not a bookie.
I am no longer involved in racing.
I get no "inside information"

I make it pay.
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:06 PM BST
Yeah he does like quick ground, but even onthat ground he runs like he did against Backstage when beaten by 100L or PU like at ascot. must have not loved it those days, the horse isnt always off, just admitt it, he has performed well on soft ground as well, however last run he was just plain awful and looked like he had had enough. Keep dreaming u can work this game out flyingdope
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:09 PM BST
We only have your word on that flyingdope.

Remember horses are animals I suppose u dodge allthese off days, u knew church island was set today and u also do all your work based on the formbook because animals always run to there best ability, u also know how each one is going to run, the shape of the race the incidients in the race such as fallers, pot holes & jockey errors. Please let me use your crystal ball sometime u mug

Winning after not doing anything all winter and then comes out and wins a big race. Sometimes this game is a joke

then you should laugh it off and and stop digging imo
Report flyingbolt • April 24, 2010 4:15 PM BST
1. I didn't back Church Island
2. I didn't rule him out on the basis of a soft ground hurdle run.
3.I don't base my betting on the form book but on what I see with my eyes.
4.I love it when a forum idiot gets backed into a corner and keeps digging a bigger hole for himself.

Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:17 PM BST
Not digging, pointing out facts.
The game has a bad name already and will never be taken seriously as a sport because as a contest half the field are non triers in most races
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:18 PM BST
U lose then flyingdope, based on your eyes, your eyes must tell u the horse is not off then
Report flyingbolt • April 24, 2010 4:20 PM BST
Strange thing for a "PRO" to say
:^0
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:21 PM BST
Well if u dont use the formbook how would u know what a horse wants then, u sit there and watch 2,000,0000 races a year, u not got a life then
Report shane34 • April 24, 2010 4:22 PM BST
gangsterism -Ireland or Eng it goes on everywhere
Report GANT007 • April 24, 2010 4:23 PM BST
Well said shane.............some people in the uk still think it's an Irish thing.
Report flyingbolt • April 24, 2010 4:24 PM BST
Yes I watch every race. It's what I do.
Are you a bit simple ?
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:25 PM BST
Church Island failed in this race last year, granted the trainer said "we was upset at not winning it last season", yet comes into this race off a higher mark then last year and in worse form and wins well, like I said typical Irish horse, they do it all the time, what part of that is hard to grasp. Has bee rubbish this season and then wins a big pot
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:26 PM BST
Where did I say the english dont do it??

Pipe made a killing doing this
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:29 PM BST
So if something catches your eye flyingbolt, u back it next time even though it could be up against 20 different horses, so u win using luck rather then judgement then, and then claim to win at the game, sound like a deluded punter who wants to believe everything is well with the game u love!!!! take off the rose tinted glasses
Report corbiewood • April 24, 2010 4:30 PM BST
PBP,

calm down

It won....on merit.

deal with it and move on.
Report flyingbolt • April 24, 2010 4:30 PM BST
Oh dear Oh dear
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:32 PM BST
yes won the race on merit today, but looked like a rancid piece of mince ready for the butchers last time out!!! not cribbing the horse, just merely pointing out that this game is a complete farce & joke
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:34 PM BST
Bit ironic that u say u go on what u see, yet u have no comment on the fact the horse ran like a butchers special this season until today.Flyingdope just shows u are convinced this game is a path to the rich house, I will let u know it is, u will get there fella, live the dream, well done fella u will achieve greatness
Report Stevie Gerrard • April 24, 2010 4:35 PM BST
the horse ran 2 of his best ever races back in sep/oct, then puts in a shocker. they give it a break, followed by a couple of outings over hurdles and get him spot on for today.
Report flyingbolt • April 24, 2010 4:36 PM BST
I'm sorry that you can't make it pay.

Never mind .
Report GANT007 • April 24, 2010 4:38 PM BST
Are you suggesting Mick Hourigan neglects his hoses.........rancid piece of mince fit for the butchers.............were you at naas last time it ran.
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:44 PM BST
STEVIE understand that and fair enough, however those runs in the hurdle race, looked totally out of love with the game, understand was a prep run, but feck me he was truely awful and at 11yo u would label him as gone at thegame like so many horses do end up having ran 40+ runs over the sticks. Then he wins well when the pot is big, Like I said the game is a Joke, mainly down to the harsh penalties of handicapping, both hurdle runs was 12/1 and they were just run of the mill races. unlessu are involved in the setup u go on the formbook and what u saw last time out and fact he was higher in the weights this time around and also looked totally out of sorts he wouldnt have been the idea of a winner for many, hard enough to win inraces when there is 20+ runners but even with the ones that u discount after seeing it perform poorly and with a harder task then last year, it is impossiable, hence why it is a joke of a game.
Report PLACE BETTING PRO • April 24, 2010 4:45 PM BST
no gant, dont put words in my mouth, it was a expression as to how bad it ran
