yes iv long held the view that jumps racing is very cruel on horses..and a bit amateur compared to the flat which is ..proper.. racing.there we see perfectly why i hold this view..firm ground..slow but brave horses..hurdles..going to fast for their own good or they get whipped mercilessly...horses with broken legs littering the course..poor confused young jockeys trying to avoid more disaster...racing for change.. my ass!it was unedifying to watch in so many ways..gasparo was the rightful winner in my opinion..i didnt back it either, but lets feel for those poor dead horses...the pain they sufferd for our entertainment.. if you call watching lovely horses die entertaining...i watched similar incidents 3 weeks ago in very heavy ground at chepstow wen horses were totaly exausted and some fell and broke their necks wen they could hardly walk never mind jump fences.. it upsets me so much ..racing over jumps shouldnt be run on very testing or very fast ground.. end of ruddy story.. racing for change should get in the real world.
