Paul Townend better than Ruby...

Hes not BETTER than Ruby..But he does have a real bright future..Hes got some big boots to fill..

Lets not start comparing the 2 he's a good jockey he will get better in time dont start comparing him with the master just yet give the kid a chance

OK then...better than Ruby when Ruby was 19. I have no doubt though that he will end up one of the greats.

Do you remember ruby when he was 19 if not then that's a stupid statement, when ruby was 19 he was seen as a top jockey for the future just like townend the difference is ruby has gone on from there and has done it townend still has to do it only the future will tell if he can or not

Jockeys much of a muchness when they've served their apprenticeship and learned the basics. After that it's mainly down to luck -who gets the right jobs or who has the best contacts.
I've been looking at jockeys riding for over 50 years and I can't see any significant difference in what they do. I've nothing for or against Townend ...but if any other jockey got to ride the equine Ferraris he does -then all the headlines would be about them .

Ruby was Amature champion Jockey TWICE by the time he was 18 at 19 he was Professional Champion and at 20 he was a Grand National winning Jockey. I cant see Towns end doing the latter 2 for a while.
