have been having a shocking time on my own threads but will give it one last shot as this horse ticks all the boxes i like to be ticked.
the selection is haljaferia from the elsworth yard. ran ok in 4 maidens before as pedigree strongly hinted improved when moved up to todays distance of 12 furlongs at donny. was 4th in that race behind chilly filly, the surrounding horses filling places have all won, the 3rd was the useful akmal now a group 3 winner.
the next race for the elsworth gelding saw it show a good resolution at thirsk in a mdn where the pace was rather sluggish in the early stages, managed to land the spoils going on at the finish. next outing was at york 1st time on a soft surface and absolutely resented it beaten very early indeed. newbury was the next port of call back on fast ground (mark of 74), this is where i think the worth of the finishing position was far better than the bare result. the horse was boxed in off a slow pace 3 or 4 times, stopped in its run and could only get going when the leaders had kicked away, managed to find a stride and take 5th at the finish. i've watched the race a few times and tbh i think it was a very poor ride by dwyer seeing as the pace had been slow to get hemmed in.I backed the horse on this occasion and was far from amused!
next was to ascot and an impossible looking task over 2m in a group 3, not suprisingly a no show there. final start of the last campaign at HQ over 13f saw another poor paced race and elsworths charge pulled consistently from side to side wanting to go a lot faster. not suprisingly when the race began in earnest the horse found nothing and was eased right out of it.
elsworth is 5/20 in class 4 hcps over 1m4f last 6 years and has had 2 winners in last 4 runners. 4-21 at beverley (2-7 4yo+)
i think this horse has an outstanding chance today off of 71 currently a 7/1 shot.

i need to get bets sorted the day before really but how can you guarantee getting anything on here the evening before. a 50 quid back offer throws everything into chaos :(
i try to work on the two b365 ..4/1 plus races as they are priced up the night before.
oh well i hope they steam into it and it goes off at 5's, 7's won't seem to bad then :)

this one got me excited to earlier A K , and was backed accordinly , a bit of a lay off but won beginnin of may last year so perhaps its right time to catch her
got its conditions as i think u mentioned ..... may need this run but im hopin the shrewdies that took the 14's r in the know ;)

lets hope so mate as i mentioned the horse really stood out on that newbury run as it was absolutely murdered, the form of others in its maidens, the fact its unexposed over trip on fast ground, the trainer having had a couple of recent winners, a bit of money for it and expected pace in the race make it a decent 7/1 shot imo.

I think TAARESH: might run well,I thought up to this trip (for the first time) and the ground conditions today may well bring out some improvement.

If Sworn Tigress can reproduce the Wolv. AW bursts of speed here on the turf could leave all these struggling.
