overrated jock, not worth a warnk on chasers, no idea how to produce a horse to a fence, great on hurdlers, but about my 7th choice on a chaser, thats why it took him so long to get a national

its a fkin grade one race, you want a jock to sort it out I repaet gr8 ride from the very best there has ever been |
By:
Do you think the horse will ever run again?

denman showed the kind of mood he was in before the eace. looked in a mood to refuse to race. he was just taking the** all the wayt round. massive talent but clearly getting a bit quirkier and certainly not the kinda horse to back at a short price.i think its fair to say nobody really knows what kinda run denman is gonna put in nowadays. the henessy win was magnificent , the 1/8 failure was poor, very good in the gold cup and downright moody today.

spot on in my book mccoy tried everything today, the horse didn't want to know today round there. |

What are they trying to do this horse? Dodgy heart, fastish ground, racing wrong way round after a hard race in the GC.These doubts expressed by me pre-race on another thread btw.
By:
owners wouldnt have run if not happy about the ground

You weren't the only one Pilsudski. I agree whole-heartedly with what you say here. Pure greed imo. Everything today was against him. Just look at the way he was carrying his head - you could see it was hurting him and it was only his bravery that got him into 4th. That race would have left another huge scar. The horse deserves a lot better after the courageous efforts he has put in. |

Needs blinkers.
Ruby said so last November! |
By:
Dont think the horse is right. Runs like something is hurting him. So 'saves' himself.
By:
i backed it but writing on wall really after the first never going and hanging a long way.back 2 drawing board
By:
Nicholls should have learnt from the past about running his gold cup runners again in the same season, thats three years running.............
By:
Denman is Finished!!
By:
mycoy didnt do anything right either :)
By:
cant do much when arms being pulled off him
By:
didnt ruby say a while ago, that blinkers would suit denman
By:
To get the horse as close as it did, after jumping far from fluently regardless of all the hanging was a professional performance. Denman to me did not look the same horse physically that won the Hennesssy or cam esecond in the Gold Cup. Not suggesting this was a ringer!

Well said,Johnnyrant.

DOG

By:
should never run right handed again a stone worse goin g that way
McCOY PERFORMED A MINOR MIRACLE TO GET THAT CLOSE if yer looking for a scapegoat blame the trainer right handed and on quick gground the horse should never have run needs cut and left handed to be seen at his best |
By:
even a man with a pumpkin for a head would have recognised the dangers of going right handed and, you would think, have adapted the training and/or gear to reflect that
By:
i had a feeling it would all end in tears.loves soft ground imo.iff u backed it i would like to know your reasoning?
By:
i didn't
but on handicapping it should have won by a furlong |
By:
this was a SHOCKING bet today with everything we know about the horse.... you nedd yer bumps read if you did yer dough imo

Nicholls should have learnt from the past about running his gold cup runners again in the same season, thats three years running. He'd point to the fact that Neptune Collonges won the Guinness Gold Cup twice after running in the Gold Cup (3rd behind Denman in 2008) and KK and WOA both won both races in the same year since 2005. Denman and Kauto are older I suppose but they were n't three years ago. I think the right handed thing is valid criticism in hindsight (must've had a good idea beforehand that could be a problem), personally not convinced the ground was an issue. There might be a problem physically with the horse or maybe - like humans - they get to the point were they won't - or can't - go through the physiological pain barrier anymore. It's interesting that two top class horses for the same stable both have their own radical ideas - maybe the bright ones are the best ones. Also possible that they're not that keen on the travelling by sea. |
By:
better to back it today than to lay it at Newbury imo
By:
Horse had had a heart problem. I thought that McCoy might acrually pull him up as he amy have been trying to tell old AP that he wasn't feeling too good!
Connections should retire him as he owes them nothing, but then that aint gonna line their pockets either. Hope Denman is OK anyway which is the main thing ;) |
By:
easy to say after joker.bonehead comment considering how poor a race it was

cant wait for the denman v kauto at chelters.roll on next march
