JOCKEYS described the ground as "on the slow side of good" on day one of the Punchestown festival, according to manager Richie Galway.
The ground was officially described as good on all courses, except the banks track which was good to firm in places, and the course intends to water again overnight to maintain that going.
"We'll take a look at the track directly after racing and it will depend on the day's damage - and how much it has dried since this morning - how much water is put on it, " said Galway.
"Tomorrow is to be a similar day to today, with a slight frost overnight keeping moistureon top of the ground followed by cool temperatures and a mixture of sunshinse and cloud."
