Newbury moved the rail in 3 metres today on the Round course.....

and that's the course that TELLS you what it's done. I'd be surprised if ANY distances on the turf are as advertised.

the ones on the Round course, race 4, 6, 7 and 8. What initially made the round course look on the soft side of good, now means all the horses travelled about 33yards longer, making the gound appear not as soft on times. But it's not worth following it with the constant rail movements.

rails are moved all the time IMO....you need fresh ground

taking about 1.79 seconds longer to complete the new distances, making some times that were slower than standard, now faster than standard, lol. It's comical. You get a speed figure that was initially a 95, suddenly becomes a 102. It make speed figures on the Turf a waste of time on round courses, maybe, MAYBE the straight tracks can be trusted....i'd be doubtful though.

and theyre moving it to a new place for tomorrow, lol. Distances will be emmmmmmmmm pick a number? 24 metres longer.......

Roger is correct, it is an absolute joke. I couldn't believe Ripon moved their rail out the other day, how much racing have they had this winter? And when the so called 'industry paper' can't get the information about stall positions, ground and dolling correct what chance do punters have?

The grass growth this year has been virtually non existent, so the courses have struggled to recover fully from last year's wear and tear. CoCs may not want to cause lasting damage to ground still far from perfect.

This may be behind the thinking.
