Hi All,

Please what's the draw advantage at Ripon on today's going?

I was of the understanding you wnated to be drawn low in the big field sprints if the going is gd-fm or faster....

Thanks

Still think there is some cut in the ground at Ripon today so I am going HIGH in the handicap sprint.
Looking at BEL CANTOR & ESPRIT DE MIDAS.

Watering depends on the clerk of the course's tricast bets. In small fields it used to be that being right on the stand side rail was a masssive advantage. Not these days.

high draw surely still preferred though?

Just highlights perfectly the current farcical situation with uk racing.

By now we could have detailed turftrax going maps of every course in the uk. The BHA didn't want to spend the money, and instead waste it on bolstering the pension pots of the sfb's supposedly running the show.

Instead we get ONE single going stick reading from a track that is over 1m in circumfrence and can accomodate approximately 25 horses wide on the home straight.

I'm always wary of the home straight at Ripon not because of the draw but the surface. It always seems like a lot of very small undulations akin to galloping over corrugated iron. Horses seem to get unbalanced easily & have to keep changing lead legs etc.

it's a great pity that there aren't more constructive & accurate comments posted on the forum - well done Muqbil
