I went to a Ladbrokes racing event at Newmarket some years ago & Thommo was the guest speaker. He was not as bad in person as he is on tv. Jamie Osborne served me & my mate a pint once when we went down to Newbury & stayed in a pub/hotel owned by Tony McHoy's former driver. He seemed ok in person. The pub/hotel was changing hands & was not open. Can't recall how we got to stay in there.
